 Synthetic Tracking Line - 18 feet

This tracking line is made of synthetic material that looks and feels exactly like leather. The tracking line is ½ ” wide by 1/8” thick. It is 1/3 lighter than leather lines, very soft and very pliable.

Rubber Puppy Tug Toy

This is Leerburg's newest tug for puppy bite work and drive building exercises. It is extremely soft and very flexible. They make these  at the Leerburg Kennels. The rope handle is approximately 12 inches long and is made of durable nylon.

DVD Basic Dog Obedience

 This DVD is 4 hours long. The purpose of this Leerburg training DVD is teach you the art of dog training.

The goal is to show you that dog training is not rocket science it's 100% common sense. There are no "Tricks or Secrets of the Trade." Dog training is is an art that you can learn if your willing to put your mind to it.

The best dog trainers know how to build a bond based on two way respect between the dog and the handler. These trainers know how to motivate a dog to want to learn. They understand how and when to apply distractions during training so they can show the dog that it must mind under all circumstances.

The DVD will show you how to approach dog training. It will teach you how to break a task into small incremental training steps (or building blocks). Once the dogs has learned each of these small blocks we show how to put them back together again so the dog can easily perform the exercises.

Kelp provides iodine to the body for correct functioning of the thyroid glands, which influences overall health. metabolism, skin and coat. Kelp also contributes to good pigmentation. Alfalfa contains calcium, potassium, plus all known vitamins. The minerals are in a balanced form, which promotes absorption. These minerals are alkaline, but have a neutralizing effect on the intestinal tract.

Black Leather Agitation Harness

The Leerburg dog training harness are the finest leather dog harnesses that money can buy.

These harnesses are made from soft Latigo leather. You will never find a better quality agitation or tracking harness in pet stores.

The hardware on the leather dog agitation and tracking harnesses are made from the highest quality chrome and nickel plated steel. All of the leather harnesses are sewn and then pop riveted to insure the highest security available. This is very important in Schutzhund and police protection training where a broken harness can cause a disaster.

You can buy a less expensive harness at any store in your town, but you will NEVER buy a better quality harness. Most experienced dog trainers know that you get what you pay for!

The agitation harness is designed to fit almost any size working dog. The leather is the finest you can buy. It is flexible and will not rub or wear into the skin of your dog. In addition it has a padded breast plate to absorb the shock of a strong dog hitting the end of a line during bite work.

The agitation harness is not recommended as a tracking harness. It is too heavy for long tracks. This harness was designed with security and comfort for bite work not tracking.

Black Leather Tracking Harness

The tracking harness is designed to fit almost any size working dog. The leather is the finest you can buy. It is flexible and will not rub or wear into the skin of your dog. In addition it has a padded shoulder straps to protect the dog in a long track. There is a lightweight belly-plate that is not padded. We designed this tracking harness to be comfortable and as light as possible with a leather harness for longer tracks.

You can have the plate and o-ring be on top of the dogs back or under the dogs chest; it is your choice. Some trainers prefer the long line to be under the dog and come out between the dogs back legs. This helps in training tracking dogs to keep their head to the ground. Other trainers prefer to have the plate and o-ring be on top of the dogs back and have the track line or long line come off the dog behind the shoulder blades.

This tracking harness is not recommended for use as an agitation harness. It can be too light for hard hitting dogs and there is no chest plate on the leather tracking harnesses. This harness was designed to be lightweight and comfortable for tracking.

This design was copied from a tracking harness used by the RCMP in Canada. The harness does not restrict the air flow of the dog in any way. This is an extremely important feature on a tracking harness during long tracks where the dogs need all the help they can get.

The dog leashes are made from soft Latigo leather. You will never find a leash of this quality in any pet store or dog food warehouse.

The snaps on our leather dog leashes and collars are made from the highest quality Italian bronze. These snaps are generally sewn and then pop riveted to insure the highest security available. This is very important in Schutzhund and police protection training where a broken leash can cause disaster.

You can buy a cheaper leash at any store in your town, but you will NEVER buy a better quality leash anywhere. This leash is 4 feet long and rivited for added strength. This leather leash is 3/4 inches wide.

 The first thing one should look for on a leash is its snap. The snap needs to be the finest quality contstruction possible. The snaps on Leerburg leather leads are high quality imported hardware. A snap that fails can result in a loose dog that could cause any number of problems, such as:

The next thing to look for in a good leash is to see how the snap is attached to the leather leash. If the leash is wide enough, the snaps should be sewn and pop-riveted. Most of the leather items are sewn and riveted.

 The 1/2 inch wide leather leash was a very necessary addition to the Leerburg selection of leather leashes. This leash is 6 feet long and rivited for added strength, but thinner at only 1/2 inch wide. Perfect for mid-sided dogs like Jack Russell Terriers or Cocker Spaniels! They are Identical in construction as our 4 and 6 foot Leather Leashes that are 3/4 inches wide only these are lighter and thinner.

Black 3 & 5 foot Leather Drag Leash

A drag leash is a light weight leash that is designed to be used by trainers who want to let their dog drag a leash so they can quickly grab the line to either control the dog or to give a correction. A drag line should not have a loop handle. When dogs drag a leash with a looped handle their hind legs are constantly getting tangled in the loop. This can cause a bad injury if the dog is running and it trips them. I have heard of dogs actually breaking a rear leg when this happened while they were running.
